YOUR GUIDE TO HOME WORSHIP:
“Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, ‘Surely the LORD is in this place, and I did not know it’.” – Genesis 28:16
Jacob had got mixed up in some very ugly transactions and, fleeing from the wrath of his brother, he was tired from the day’s journey and he fell asleep. He awoke, amazed to find God was with him in mercy and kindness, hence the exclamation! The common tendency is to forget that God is always with us, although Jesus said it very definitely. Our daily transactions would be different if we could bring ourselves to the realization of this fact. On the other hand, what comfort there would be amid our disappointments and sorrows. In every one of us is a sanctuary which God never leaves. “Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” (1 Corinthians 3:16)
