MAKING OF BIBLE LEADERS:
SWALLOW YOUR PRIDE OR BE SWALLOWED UP: Numbers 16:28-30
The scripture makes clear that God places people in authority, and it is dangerous to oppose God’s anointed. Korah had rebelled against both Moses and the Lord, thus illustrating the tragic flaw of many believers – a desire for self and authority beyond what God has ordained or called for themselves or for others.
In order to live as godly people, we must be willing to submit ourselves to those in leadership above us. Many who hold leadership positions based on their strength and personality find this difficult to accept, yet willing subordination may qualify a person for greater leadership responsibilities later. Basically, to become a great or greater leader, we first must learn how to be a great or greater follower. Remember that even Jesus submitted Himself to the authority of the Father and all power in Heaven and on earth was given to Him.
